We are looking for someone to lead our future Service Delivery function: this is your chance to join at the beginning, to shape it and build this into a successful part of the business.

Clients are increasingly looking to us to operate and support the systems we build for them, and you’ll make sure we can to do that to the same high quality they already expect from us. You’ll oversee all aspects of our Service Delivery work, operating systems externally and internally: the people, processes, tools and measures. You’ll drive a culture of continuous improvement, and incorporate the best of what’s happening across the industry.

You will create and nurture long term client relationships and be their main point of contact for planning, escalation, reporting and discussions around future strategy. You’ll help us sell our services to new and existing clients – influencing discussions and shaping how things are set up to ensure successful, mutually beneficial engagements.

You will:

  • Define Scott Logic’s approach to Service Delivery: what we do and how we do it.
  • Establish our Service Desk, with associated tooling and working practices.
  • Lead Service Delivery engagements with our clients, combining a strong customer focus with real insight into how great services are run.
  • Help us grow the business, pursuing opportunities with clients, helping to shape our Service Delivery work with them and negotiating contractual arrangements.
  • Drive the next phase in maturing our internal IT provision, managing the day-to-day IT needs of our growing consultancy team.
  • Manage the Service Delivery team, recruiting as we grow and helping them achieve their potential.

You’ll need:

  • Previous leadership experience within service delivery in a bespoke software development context.
  • Knowledge of operating business-critical IT systems, in particular large-scale web-based systems.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to influence at senior levels – keeping calm under pressure and diffusing difficult customer situations.
  • A good understanding of technology and working practices, ideally in a modern DevOps environment, to help drive how we build and operate systems reliably.
  • Insight into how to establish new service management arrangements from setting up SLAs through to supporting tools, processes and people.
  • Previous experience within an IT consultancy would be useful, as would a good understanding of ITIL and how it works in the real world.
