Scott Logic becomes certified B Corp

23 October 2023

We are very proud to share that Scott Logic is now B Corp Certified™, as we join a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact.

The B Corp™ verification process administered by the nonprofit, B Lab, measures a company’s social and environmental performance. To become a Certified B Corporation™, companies undergo a rigorous review of the impact of their operations and business model on their workers, customers, communities and environment, and must meet a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment.

“Scott Logic’s purpose has always been to create opportunity and sustainable prosperity through technical innovation,” said Graham Odds, Chief Strategy Officer, Scott Logic. “We always felt like our mission aligned very closely with the B Lab movement, and joining their network of like-minded organisations will increase our collective impact.”

As a B Corp in the technology consulting industry, Scott Logic is among businesses that are leading a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.

“Scott Logic has always been headquartered in Newcastle and always will be,” said Steve Foreshew-Cain, CEO, Scott Logic. “We are passionate about the potential of the North East as a prime location for UK businesses and talent. We have close ties with Newcastle University and Durham University, where we fund scholarships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.”

Every B Corp™ is scored using the five impact areas in the B Impact Assessment: governance, workers, community, the environment, and customers.

“We are a people-focused business,” said Myra Cooke, Chief People Officer, Scott Logic. “We have set goals around DEI, and our People Promise lays out a set of cultural beliefs within the Scott Logic community about the way we work here. They build on our core values of Excellence, Passion, Collaboration, Respect and Professionalism. The principles hold us true to ourselves and we use them all the time to make – and sometimes challenge – business and consultancy decisions.”

Scott Logic is joining a network of 1,500 B Corps™ in the UK and 7,500 worldwide. Other B Corps™ in the North East include Robson Laidler Accountants, Just Williams, Sail Creative, UMi, Berghaus and Space Architecture.
