Scott Logic is looking for talented graduates who are interested in becoming a software developer and want to take part in a proven graduate scheme.
We established the Graduate Programme several years ago as a first step into a career within Information Technology. Since its inception the programme has successfully provided a career path to working within exciting and technologically advanced client projects, and for others to progress into leadership roles.
During the programme you will hone your software and consulting skills by undertaking technical development projects and accredited training.
How is the training programme structured?
A week-long company induction at the start of the Graduate Programme will allow you to get to know your colleagues. It’s fun and gives a great insight into what Scott Logic does.
After the induction week, you’ll hit the ground running doing real development work. Initially you’ll be working with your peers on all aspects of a development project from gathering requirements to delivery. This will allow you to hone your skills with the cutting edge technologies and modern Agile software engineering practices we use.
Our Graduate Programme does not stop there. There will be bespoke courses run through the first year, covering subjects from Agile development practices to software design. We will also support you in achieving industry-recognised accreditations in .NET or Java, to demonstrate how far you have come.
As part of the programme you will also be asked to undertake a team project working within small teams. Examples of the previous applications developed included:
When is the programme held?
Our programme runs from August until March. During the programme you will be appointed a mentor who will support you throughout.
What is the selection process?
The process involves two interviews which are conducted by members of our development team. During the first interview you will be asked to take part in a coding exercise and also asked some technical and logical questions. The second interview will walk through your CV and cover more generic questions about you. We believe that it is important that you have the opportunity to find out more about Scott Logic during the process.
Who should apply for the programme?
We would welcome your application if you have A Level/Higher grades of at least BBB or equivalent, have or are expecting a good computing, mathematical, engineering or scientific degree (that has some programming content) and enjoy problem solving. Both undergraduate and post-graduate students are eligible to apply for the Graduate Recruitment Programme.
Alternatively we have an extremely successful paid internship scheme, for those in their penultimate year of study.
