How does our recruitment process work?

Simple online application

You’ll find this on every vacancy listed on the site. We’ll ask for some basic information, your latest CV and links to any work or writing you’d like us to consider.

Time to talk

If your initial application looks good, the next step is a phone call. Here we want to get to know you a little better, and we’re happy to answer any questions you may have.

A group of people at an interview

Face to face (virtually, for now!)

If there seems to be a mutual fit, it’s time to meet via video call. For technical roles, interviews will likely include some technology discussion, exercises and problem-solving. Most candidates really enjoy this, and it’s a great way for us to understand how you tackle challenges.

Show us your skills

Typically we run a two-stage interview process. The second stage is a chance to meet some more members of the team via video call, cover some more technical exercises, and also to explore the role, your past work and your longer-term goals in more detail.

Meet some of the team

Developer, Newcastle

"One of the many reasons I see myself staying at Scott Logic is the open and collaborative culture where everyone supports one another. It means we never end up feeling like we’re working in morale-draining silos, cut off from one another."

Lead Developer, Bristol

“The company has proved to be the right fit for me and what I have always wanted for my career. It's also great that I’m always learning from those around me as Scott Logic is a place filled with some seriously smart people.”

Developer, Bristol

“I really enjoyed the interview process itself. It felt more like an opportunity for me to show who I actually was, instead of being expected to adopt some kind of super-formal persona in order to tick the right corporate boxes.”

Lead Developer, Edinburgh

“I have now been at Scott Logic for over eight years instead of making like a typical dev and job-hopping every couple of years. My reason for staying is simple: I have been on a definite path since the day I joined in 2012 after graduating from university.”

Siso Sibanda

Delivery Manager, London

“I was offered a role and soon discovered another Scott Logic benefit – the removal of management layers between me and the client so I am able to establish relationships with a broader set of stakeholders on the client account.”

Senior Test Engineer, Newcastle

"I sent out CVs but every potential employer came back, saying: 'No, you’re not experienced enough'. I was stuck, and then Scott Logic gave me a chance. I think the company took notice of me because I was so honest about my lack of experience and stated that I just needed an opportunity to learn and prove myself."
