Senior Developer

The role

Join our tight-knit team designing and delivering business-critical systems for high-profile clients.

We are hiring experienced software engineers to take senior roles in delivery teams within our growing development centres. We’re looking for people as passionate as you are about building software right; ultimately delivering outstanding solutions to our clients, following an agile approach with a real focus on good engineering practices. Whether you are ready to progress your career into a senior position or you’ve already got decades of experience we’d like to talk to you.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role, offering the opportunity to be involved in the full development lifecycle, delivering mission-critical projects for high-profile global organisations. You’ll typically work in small, tight-knit multidisciplinary teams solving tough software challenges. We trust our teams to have high levels of autonomy and value collaboration and pragmatism.

You can expect to work throughout the development stack, from richly interactive web applications to high performance backends. You will work with a diverse variety of platforms and modern architectures. Microservices, modern front-end frameworks, cloud, streaming and serverless are just a flavour of what we do. You can read more about these topics on our blog.

We will recognise your experience and fundamental skills. If you aren’t getting a chance to use modern technologies and practices in your current role, we can help you to build your skillset.

You’ll be surrounded by highly capable people in a collaborative environment that encourages sharing knowledge and experience. There’s plenty of opportunity to mentor colleagues and generally get involved in our engineering community. We’ll help you develop your career, taking growing levels of ownership and leading others along the way. We can also help you build your profile: sharing your expertise (blogging or speaking, both internally and externally), advising our clients and contributing to open source projects.

Scott Logic is a founder-owned, successful and fast-growing UK-based software consultancy with city-centre UK offices, where we design and build software that transforms some of the world’s biggest and most demanding organisations. What’s important to us

Our people enjoy working in an environment where they can grow and succeed together. We hire people who align with our core values of Passion, Excellence, Collaboration, Respect and Professionalism.

You’ll need to have:

  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to new situations
  • Good experience and knowledge of the fundamentals in your main tech stack
  • Experience of designing well-structured and maintainable applications
  • Experience of communicating your ideas to multiple audiences
  • An appetite to learn new technologies and approaches

This role is based in our city centre office and is likely to involve occasional travel (infrequent day trips or a few days at a time) to visit our clients, across the UK and beyond. If you are interested in more travel, then opportunities are available. Feel free to speak to us about this.

We are mindful of the imbalances in our sector. We celebrate multiple and varied approaches and points of view. We believe diversity drives innovation and we commit to maintaining and improving an open and creative workplace, where everyone can contribute irrespective of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability.
