This is a new and exciting opportunity to join us on either a part-time or fractional basis. Either way the role is hybrid and based at one of our office locations: Bristol, Newcastle, Leeds, Edinburgh, Glasgow or London.
The role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Group CIO will create and own and execute a forward‑looking IT strategy that enables Logical Holdings, Scott Logic and Marra to deliver outstanding client outcomes while scaling and developing the in-technology environment efficiently. A key objective is to successfully deliver and build upon a recently developed IT improvement programme that simplifies processes, unlocks data‑driven decision‑making and provides robust, secure, cloud‑first infrastructure across the organisation.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and deliver a multi‑year Group IT strategy aligned to business objectives and B Corp commitments.
- Lead the IT effectiveness programme, simplifying and enhancing existing IT processes, policies and controls and ultimately improving the end-user experience
- Establish, operate and govern common platforms for collaboration, DevOps tooling, data management and business applications (e.g., Finance, HR, CRM) across all entities
- Own the group-wide cyber‑security posture: set policy, oversee risk assessments, incident response and third‑party vendor assurance in accordance with recognised standards such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus
- Develop and maintain a clear, transparent view of IT risks across the organisation, and implement effective mitigation strategies as a core element of technology governance
- Leading an IT team of 8 professionals across 3 offices, supporting the technology needs of Scott Logic, Logical Holding and Marra.
Knowledge and experience:
- Proven track record as CIO or held responsibility as an IT leader in a technology organisation or professional services environment
- Demonstrable success delivering enterprise‑wide IT strategy, improvement or transformation programmes
- Data Expertise Deep understanding of software development lifecycles, DevOps and cloud‑native architectures
- Board‑level communication skills with experience influencing diverse stakeholder groups
- Fluent understanding of UK data protection, cyber standards and financial regulations
- Willingness to travel to other offices as required
